I understand the differences between the 99-00 and 01+ LQ4 as far as iron heads and longer cranks etc.. but are there any differences in the blocks themselves?? My local junkyard has a 99, 00 and 01 complete engines. I plan on building a forged 408 w/ procharger out of it anyway, so I am not concerned about the internals... I Plan on getting the 01, but for some reason it gets sold by the time I get there, is there any reason not to get the 99 or 00 engine since I am using it for a stroker and replacing everything anyway???
