Question Putting seats from a gm car with side airbags in a 93-02 f-body??

I am wanting to upgrade the side impact safety of the car as this appears to be a weaker point in its design. I would love to put seats that have the side bolter air bags in them (in my car with custom tracks to mount them if needed) but I am unsure if there would be a way to make them functional in case of an accident or even if possible, if it would be a good idea to do this?

I'm sure you could with the BCM from the car they came from. The issue I have is they were designed for another car. Do you have enough room for them to deploy correctly etc.

I'm going with "no." Adding upgraded safety features to an older car doesn't make them safer. The way certain airbags work depends on the area they are being deployed - thus not all are made the same. If you are worried about side impact, I'd look into a cage.

yeah, but adding a cage to a street drivin car opens up more potential for harm than good.

With enough money, anything is possible. Personally, I wouldnt consider it though.. Wouldnt be worth it.

Vette seats will work in a F-body.

and adding a side air bag that deploys and knocks your block off is much better?

Why do you say that? I've never heard of a negative side to it.
