Really it would just be heads and cam right now for the ls1 or sell the shortblock and buy an lq and do heads and cam and possibly a bore or stroke or both and switch whatever over I can. I think I'm gonna need a head job on the driver side and I want to take advantage of the time down. And I'm trying to look cost vs cost

lq9s make some good power and weigh slightly more but worth it the bottom ends are a bit stronger and will last for some time a ls1 cant be bored out much i think its .10 not 100% on that. But you can pick up lq blocks almost anywhere for about 500

Advantage to truck motors at H/C levels are definitely price and availability. An LS1/6/2 are significantly lower in production numbers.

IMO if the weight doesn't matter to ya go LQ. If it does stick with the LS1 and start saving for an LS2/3....

Okay, so with that said what should I ask for a stock rebuilt ls1 with 40k on it that needs a tune up and possible lifter or pushrod replaced. I would sell the shortblock minus, intake and maybe access.
