rear-end question
Will any year 4th gen rear fit any other year?
I'm trying to find one to fit a 99 and I found a good deal on a 95. Besides looking for 3 or 4 channel based on traction control, is there anything else I should be aware of? I know I need to match gears as close as possible (this V6 came with 3.08 and the one I found has 3.23 -- close enough).
I know that regardless if it comes with discs or drums I need to swap over to the LS1 rear brakes, but I was wondering if I should just find a 98-02 rear to make it more simple.

this should have posted in the 'gears and axles' forum.
Traction Control started as an option for the Z28s' in 1995,and in 1999 for the V6s'.
Rear Disc brakes for V6s' started in 1998.
You didn't state the type of 'channel' that the car you're looking to put a rearend in is 3 or 4 channel.
Swapping 3.08 to 3.23 will require a 'computor' tune/adjustment to correct speedometer.
finding a 98-02 rearend WILL simplify matters.
