I just swapped in a new oil pan in place of a cracked pan in my '99 WS6. I figured out while trying to install a new oil filter that the threads are different (bigger)! After a quick search here, I learned that GM decided to switch threads in the newer pans.
That said, what filter do I need now? I found some filter #'s upon searching, but I always use Napa Gold filters & didn't find a new part # for that.
Also, it would actually be nice to know what I need to ask for a filter for if I ever decide to go to a different brand filter. A filter for a '99 Trans Am obviously isn't correct any more.![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Anybody know what I need to ask for?
Thanks!

I found this searching not sure how accurate it is. "The same engine (LS2) used on 3 different model years requires two different filters. The LS2 used in 2005 and 2006 models requires a PF46 and the LS2 in a 2007 requires a PF48, which is also used on the 2008 LS3"
Does it have a oil filter on it now? I would just cross reference that number to the brand that you want to use
