More than likely a stripper model. No power accessories, hard top, 6 speed, and at least 3:42 gears. Im not sure if they mated 3:42s to an m6 though, but you'd want a higher gear numerically.

V8. m6 did come w 3.42. If your looking for one a 99 z28 can be had for a very fair price these days but I'm located in nor cal. The less optioned the better.

Um... Usually, Cheap and Fast don't really go together.

If they do happen to come together, the words break, broke, broken and unreliable will come into play.

Do some research, look around some. It will start to make sense after a while. If it doesn't make sense, ask questions.

That question right there tells me you're really not into the F-body scene (camaros and firebirds). If you're looking for a camaro, the fastest and cheapest ones you can get are modded ones from 98-02. They have the LS1. If you get a stock one and start moding it yourself it'll add up quick. Without a doubt, the cheapest and fastest Camaros out there are the ones someone else has already sunk some money

Realize when I say cheap I mean in the $5-8k range. Now if you're thinking about CHEAP, you'll want a 93-97 Z28.

Yea, I was dumb enough to start with a stocker thinking I'll have peace of mind that I know things were done right. young and dumb, could've saved a few k by starting with a bolt on car.

My advice would be to buy a 100k plus miles 98 - 99 M6 LS1. You can get one for around $7k or less. The 00-02 have certain improvements over the 98-99 but obviously they cost more.

Not to hate on the LS1's by any means, but LT1 camaro's (93-97 Z28 or SS cars) have incrediable bang for the buck too-mainly because they're less expensive to begin with and not all that much slower than an LS1 car. Find a clean car (doesn't necessarily mean low miles) with some bolt ons already on it and you can have an 11 second LT1 Camaro for less than 7k easy if you play your cards right and can do some of your own work. Cam/nitrous LT1 car would be a great bang for your buck and tons of fun.

Aaaallll depends on how fast you wanna go, and how much you wanna spend

LT1 motors don't respond quite as well to mods as an LS motor, but they can still be made incrediably fast and respectable for a small amount of money. 93-97 cars do have some perks over LS cars too tho-the 98-02's aren't better in every single way like many think.

one thing i used to ignore the hell out of and finally one day woke up and bought an f-body - "no replacement for displacement". if you're gonna turbo something, turbo something that can already pump twice as much air through it.

This.

7k will get you plenty of LS1. "Scort" might be worse than "m-a-r-o" or "formy".

edit: forgot it changes m-a-r-o to camaro

Agreed about the escort. And biggest bang for the buck, performance and looks wise is an ls1 camaro.
