It worked for me as far as taking the auto headlights and shutting their function down. I still have full control of turning all lights on and off, as I please and they don't turn on, based on sunlight, or at all automatically.
However, when I got the car, I noticed DRLs on my 2000 SS. Just the auto headlights turning on a little early, all the time... They may have been modded before I got the car?
But yeah, thats all I did.. Cut the two wires off of the photoelectric sensor (near the red security LED under the dash) and tied them together...

It seems to me that you could connect A & B with a on/off switch. So for normal everyday operation your headlights would be automatic (i actually like this function most of the time), but then you could also turn the feature off if you wanted.
Only thing would be the switch would be 'backwards'... 'ON' would mean the headlights would not be automatic... 'OFF' would mean headlights WOULD be automatic. So it woud make sense to get a switch w/out the labels.
Just a thought...

They are all the same, '98-'02. Camaro received auto headlights *and* DRLs. Firebird/Trans Am received only DRLs. This is for cars spec'ed for sale in the US. I've heard from Canadian members that the Firebirds/Trans Ams sold in Canada had auto headlights just like the Camaro, though.

If you follow the instructions in the link I posted early in this thread, you can make both the auto headlights and the DRLs disappear and still retain use of the dash brake light.

too many switches in my car already...
I popped the dash up and I used a pronged wire connector and wrapped some electrical tape around it, not all into makeing it permanate with soder and it's reversable. I do like the high speed paper clip sugestion.
DRL in trucks are quite a bit more complicated, there's several posts on fullsizechevy dot com about it(I dont' mess with wireing I'm color blind), I just push my E brake down till the first click, have to deal with the "brake" light being on, but it saves the bulb life.
