Everything you need to know to make this happen is in this link:

This mod works perfect. I've been using it for many, many years.

The writeup that RPM provided works but this is even easier. Using 15 OHM resistors from Radio Shack, all you need to do is pry up the dashpad and find the black little pod that senses the light coming into your vehicle. Take the clear top off and insert the resistor. Your DRLs will function like normal but you will have full control of your headlamps. I have used this on several of my cars since the middle of 2000. I will provide a pic in the daytime but here are the resistors needed

I don't mind the drl's. I just want the automatic head lights to disappear. I am in the army and you are supposed to turn off your headlights when you pull up to the front gate. Well I can't do that and I'm tired of getting asked, every single freaking day "can you please turn you lights off next time sir?". It gets old real quick. I would love some pics of the ohm resistor. If its truely that easy, and reliable then that may be the way I go. Thanks for the input.

94 z28,
I didn't get pics today but it will take you less than 3 minutes to do. I have used this on my current Camaro and every past camaro I have owned since 2000. The black sensor is located right next to red light that blinks on the top of the dash

Wow, all this talk about resistors and jumpers and what not; All I did was cut the sensor out and solder the wires together, ultimately eliminating the photoeletric sensor. Works great, full control, no DRLs on my 2000 SS.

Personally, I think both DRLs and auto headlights are gay, so I purposely deleted both using the link I posted above.
