I use Quaker State horsepower! Its cheap and it's cheap lol! You have to update the poll and add Quaker State. It's not a bad brand and a Nascar sponsor and teaming up with GM 1998 Z28 185,345 miles 1998 Formula 148,543 miles

Those filters arent what they use to be...
I usually run whatevers a good price...or if theres a specific brand i wanna try. I liked Pennzoil Ultra a lot but it was a little pricey...Ive used, Amsoil race, Q Horsepower, Mobile 1, Pennz. Plat, Walmart Full Syn....right now im currently running Mobile 1 Extended High Mileage and a Mobile 1 filter.

Exactly, whatever's synthetic and on sale. I normally try to stick to Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1, but I have ran Walmart Synthetic in my old LT1 with good results. I use Pennzoil Platinum for 7500 OCI in my wife's Santa Fe, but that's about every 5 months how she drives. The 7500 OCI is a little discolored, but still feels very slick and still has some life left in it. My truck is every 5k, once a year, with an AC or wix filter, and the Camaro is once a year, about 1800 miles, with an AC or Wix filter. If I were changing every 3k, it would get a good dino oil and be done.

First oil change i ran M1 5w30 with an M1 filter and it made my drivetrain really noisy and made my piston slap sound horrible.
Second change i went with what the previous owner was supposedly using which was conventional Valvoline with a Valvoline filter. I went with 10w30 to see if it would lessen the piston slap on cold starts. It did a little.
Next oil change i'm going with straight 30w Castrol and probably a Purolator filter to see what that does for the noise.

In my Z16: Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 and K&N filter.
In my Trans Am: Whatever synthetic is on sale and a PureOne filter.
In my Formula: Castrol Hi-Mile Blend and PureOne filter.
I used to used Mobil 1, but didn't like how "burnt" it looked after a short time. It seemed very low viscosity for its rating as well...

I have run Mobile 1 since the late 80's in all my cars and have always had good luck, nice clean internals with out abnormal wear, it does it's job well. I have never blown up an engine and I drive my vehicles hard! Back when I was a full time mechanic, Penzoil was known as the engine killer. It was well known for leaving the large, black carbon cookies inside the engines under the intakes. If you took an engine apart and saw the black crusty crap, you were guaranteed to find Penziol bottles in the truck. I really hope they have improved their product, personally I wouldn't use it in my lawn mower.
