Well, I would be more concerned about a car sitting outside, with rapid temp and humidity fluctuations, as mentioned here:

Not sure how I would feel if the car was left outside in 10 degree winter weather or 90 degree humid summer weather. Too much potential for condensation problems.
I too would be more concerned if it was a seldom driven car that was sitting outside.

I haven't done that yet, but I'm considering it. It just seems like a waste to throw away synthetic oil after only ~300 miles, so if I wait 2 years I'd get at least ~600 miles out of it. Again, if the car sat outside I would feel very different. My garage isn't climate controlled, but it's attached to the house and made of stone, so the temp and humidity changes are very slow. There are other considerations too, like the fact that when I *do* start the engine/drive the car, it's never for a short trip. It's always a long enough period to fully heat the oil, etc. I never get any of that moisture build-up under the oil fill cap that you'll often see on short-trip engines.

Yeah i like i sad, i only drive my car once every 2 weeks. Sometimes i end up not even starting it for a month as i hardly ever drive it. And when i do drive it, i maybe drive it less than 10 miles total.

I guess i could start doing the once a year oil changes. I tried to change it every january and july. But i still have not yet changed it as i was supposed to in january. So i might just do it july.

The reason i posted this is just to hear from other members, but at the same time i think the manual says change oil ever 3k miles or 3 months which ever comes first..LOL..

Drive mine everyday, change the oil every 3500 or so. I do it myself so it cost me less than 26.00 every change. Thats with Quaker State full Synthetic

I am surprised to see that most people that have posted don't drive often. I drive mine everyday. I change it at 5000 miles and use regular Mobil 1 5000 oil. I probably change it about 3 times per year. My car currently has 132,636 miles. I have driven the car 14,000 miles since I bought it exactly a year ago earlier this month.

I I change mine when the change oil light comes on, but since I rarely drive it I would say about 2 times a year or less.

My 1998 Z28 has about 268,000 miles on it. I have always used Mobil1, yes I am the original owner. I drive 1000 miles per week and change it every 10,000 miles, Mobil1 says it will go 15,000 miles but i don't want to push it. LOL

I drive my car less then 5k a year and run conventional. I change it every 10 months.

I ran the last 3 cars the same.

Last engine had 128k. Looked new on the inside, with perfect compression.
