That sucks but good to hear about the durability of our t-top shades! Mind if I use it as a selling point? lol

Post a wanted ad in the classifieds here or try Craigslist or ebay for a replacement. 6LE might buy your busted t-top for his targas...

Happened to me on a trip up to KC for a weekend and thankfully it didn't rain. Happened to my son's car on the day we bought it on the way back from OKC. Hasn't happened again although neither of us lock 'em - except when I'm at the track ... always lock 'em there.

You should find one on the fs section here. They show up frequently and for cheap.

Locking it doesn't make a bit of difference, unless the handle latches are VERY loose. What happens is over time, a metal plate gets pushed back, so the locking pins on the T-tops don't really secure themselves.

I swear I read a fix for this on this site somewhere. I know I didn't figure it out myself. I check my metal plates once a year, just to make sure my T-tops are latching down securely. Which reminds me, I'm due to check them again.

Check craigslist or the junkyards, you can change over the locks , but I just got a matching set at a junkyard and they had the key for it.

Its already off the car ? or still inside the car ?. Cause yunkyard around here dont sell the TTop, if it still on the car, they dont want water get in and snake.

btw its not common T top fail out at high speed right ? all my camaro is hard top, so I dont know. It made me scare to get t-top.

It's only common if you forgot to latch it like me
Otherwise, to the best of my knowledge, no it's not common.

Just take the tops off, and the little plastic clip that holds the sail panel (outside rear of where t top would be) has 2 screws that hold it. Pop it off, and you'll see the metal guide plates there. adjust accordingly. Takes about 5 minutes total. Some of you may be surprised at how LOOSE they get after a while.

Go check your ****, NOW!! LOL
