Default Finally resolved EGR issues

So last summer car had NO egr issues, no codes. I got it out of storage and it was throwing :

P0404 and P1404 were being thrown.

I took off the EGR and cleaned it, then I had light coming on with P1404 when I was just driving in town.

I went to my buddy and grabbed a good known EGR and installed it. The in town issues were gone, but I was throwing a P1404 on the highway. Id clear it on the fly and 10-15 min later it pops back on. So I cleaned that tube that goes from the intake to the EGR (which didnt have any carbon build up).

Stupidly I assumed the EGR I got from my buddy was a good clean unit. Last night, at my whits end, soaked it in carb/choke cleaner and sprayed it all out. Installed it this morning and drove the 100KM to work, and so far no light.

Lesson, never assume lol.

Now its time for my Tune (next week) and Ill be back up to spec.

EGR problems solved...

1. buy LS6 intake
2. throw LS1 intake and still attached EGR valve in road; install LS6 intake.
3. open beer and relax in lawnchair and watch people swerve around useless junk in road.
4. enjoy amusement in other peoples dispair because thats the only thing an LS1 intake and EGR valve is good for.

because they are idiots, or simply hate the hideous looks of a truck intake.

the truck intake out performs the LS1 intake. not by much, but it does.

again the LS1 intake is worthless.

do an LS6 intake when you do headers. well worth it. especially when you need a tune for both the intake and headers, may as well do one tune for both mods, insted of 2 seperate tunes.

Wow man you went thru all of that aggrevation just for a POS system that shouldn't even be in your car lol. Remove that crap especially since you are getting a tune and if you don't replace your intake get a freeze plug from the Help section of Pep Boys cost $2.99
