Did you decide what you want to get? I've been having the same debate, and after a while of thinking about it along with test driving both along with a GTO, I think I've decided on a CTS-V. Now if I could just find a nice black one close to me...

Both are great cars and I would like either, however I would default to the CTS-V. Ideally, one that had already had the rear end swapped.
I could actually rationalize getting rid of the SS and my other daily driver for a G8 or CTS-V as long as I could reliably go the forced induction route. For that to work, I would need someone else to dump the coin on the supporting mods (beefed up auto in the G8 or the rear/clutch swap in the CTS-V) before they decide to sell it.
