Default how good are 5.3's

im planning on putting a 5.3/4l60e in a 87 cutlass salon and im kinda stuck cuz i hear so much bout 6.0's, i figure 5.3's can pull big tahoe's it should drag my cutlass very well. can i get some input from someone who has one in a car? i already have motor.

They are stout little motors. Obviously the bigger 6.0 will make more power but for what they are they are pretty strong. Should pull your Cutlass around pretty good....

your going to gain somewhere around 100 horses and a much better power cuver over the stock set up. You will definatly be happy with that

i have one in my 02 camaro and one in my 2000 tahoe. they both run very good up high but off the line not super. Get some gears.

A 5.3 is still a good motor, might have less cubes, but it is in the LSx family so you'll be fine.
