More $ into my 98 or a 11 SS?

As a 2011 owner and a 98 owner myself, I don't particularly care for it. My ol' lady drives it the most but I drove it alot just to get a feel for it cause I was also wanting one. After about a week, I was glad I kept my rattle trap lol. Save that note for something newly used and still get something nice, cheaper, and still have mod money.

Aren't the new camaros going to be a bit smaller and lighter? If so, i'd wait for one of those. I really like the current camaros but damn if I wouldn't buy a 5.0 mustang (the new ones) if I were shopping for a new pony car and had 30 grand to spend. I don't so i'll keep rocking the Z28.

My 98 is mint. It looks 95% new. I drove one back in 2000 saying I was gonna own one some day. Now I do, mine is a bit quicker then the SS I drove. Looks a bit nicer too.
I am really surprised that there isn't as much love for the 5th gen as I expected.
I love my car, I just kinds of thought of getting something new if I sold this one.
But, maybe not. . . .
As far as payments go. . . Yeah, no. If I can't buy it cash I don't buy.All the way from my cars to my house. It would be a bit tough on me getting one soon. I would have to dish out the remainder after selling my car.
The cash that I have and get is not very easy to come by. So, I guess I will hold onto my 98. I sure do love the old schoolness of it

For price of 2011 2SS you can get Used c6 z06. Few more years they will be even lower.

The 5th gen is a nice car. More refined and rides/handles better (stock for stock). However, for me it's too heavy. Also, if you buy a 5th gen you will take a painful depreciation hit the moment you drive it off the lot. Depends on what you want to do, but I'm stuck on my 4th gens.
Some stockish 5th gen and Corvette drivers will look down on you... until you blow their doors off.
$10K in mod money... you can make a 4th gen pretty wicked.

It really all depends on what you want, if you want a nice new DD then I would go with the new Camaro. But if your looking to make a fast car that is pretty cheap to modify then keep what you have.
In the end it all depends on what you want and how much your willing to spend. You could always keep the 98 save up for a little bit longer and get a new camaro too. In the end its going to have to be you that makes the decision because everyone wants something different out of their cars

honestly man if you want a new car go with a 5th gen, i was SICK when i sold my 98 i missed it so bad and then i saw it on craigslist a year later. the 5th gen has grown on me. when i took it home i was a little dissappointed until the motor was broken in and got rid of the shitty 87 gas the dealer put in it (autos require fuse pull) now its a def. different car IMO. i would recommend going with a LS3 if you go that route.
on the flip side you'll have a faster car with 10k in your 98 by far. ill eventually own another 4th gen again

id only go with 5th gen because its a new car..other than that id drive the 98 any day. you can spend less money on your 4th gen and enjoy it more. 5th gens are just too bulky and heavy..not a fan.

Keep the 98. Just thinking about the high cost of insurance + the car payment on a new 2011 is enough to convince me not to do it. Put you a nice little 427 in the 98 and paint it something strange.
