Man I'd be heartbroken... glad you're ok. What happened, rear end lose traction or something?

Deer run out in front of me startled me and I jerked the wheel before I had time to think. I almost had it straightened out but would have possibly caused my wife to take a direct side impact so I turned into it to take the hit on my side. Hit the guard rail and slid down a hill about 80 feet.

I was heartbroken but glad that we walked away. Just a car at that point. I'll have another one very soon.

OP I'm glad you and your wife are ok. Thats the most important thing. Sorry to hear about it and I'd be heartbroken too. I literally cried when mine got hit I knew it wouldn't be totaled but just the fact of it sucks.

Damn. Glad you guys are okay. If I read your post correctly, that was a smart move turning into the skid to control where the car struck the guard rail.

It seems to be a bad year for LSx cars being "Totalled". This is at least the 3rd thread I've seen with a similar situation. Also, the car you see in my signature was smashed into in June by an out-of-control driver. I'm still fighting with his Ins. Co. trying to get enough money from them to get it repaired.

Good luck, and again, I'm happy no one was hurt.

Another 02 gone. That's gonna be totaled for sure.
Sorry about your car.
Glad you and your wife made it out ok. Better to wreck the car for sure.
Have a drink to the fallen f-body.
