Default 3.73 or 4.10 's

I was just wondering which would be the gear best for a 99 ls1 with 384 whp. It was originally a v6 and has 3.08 gears as of now and bog out in first a ton. Also how much would my mpg be effected?

With an M6, you would be wasting your time to do anything but a 4.10.

Im also curious on how much for an install including parts? What would be the difference in price in dropping the rear your self and bringing it somewhere, or dropping the car off?
