Fastest ground speed of a stock LS1 F-body?

Lol if I had thought about it before I got the drag radials on I may have given it a shot. Not too far from stock at all. But no way ill try it with dr's these things are scary at 100!!!! Someone wanna spot me some wheels and tires to swap on ill do it lol. Need a video cameraman too so that works twofold lol. Got a gps speed app on my bionic so that part is easy :p

5th gear at around 5100 rpm. car had a lid and muffler at the time, i don't think that's enough to say it wasn't "stock".
shifted to 6th and it bogged. it took like literally 3 minutes straight of nothing but 100% tps in 5th gear. that's a long time for a car to be wide ******* open. not to mention the time it took before that lol. i'm actually more surprised it didn't blow up than anything else. my gps was saying something like 159 if i remember correctly.

The title of this thread made me lol.... Fastest ground speed.... as opposed to what, air speed!? 
When I had my 85 two seater hard top convertible Camaro, a cop pulled me over and said that he tagged me with either radar or laser, can't remember, doing 165. The top was down and the peddle was on the floorboard. Of course I was not stock, I has a 400 SBC that was stroker to a 421.
Not sure how truthful the cop was about my speed, but in the end he was cool and we sat there bullshit about my car fro almost an hour... this was on I95 @ 3am in Florida.

Hmmm.... GM claims the car will not exceed 162mph due to safety regulations, (aka gov.) However, one time when I was young and dumb, I wanted to test this out... I had 2 GPS's to make sure it was 100% correct and 162 was the top speed the GPS read. Then I went to a local shop had the computer messed with and off I went with a witness. At the time my stock 99 Ws6 topped out at 169mph on a cold winter night so hopefully this is a start. Maybe a tune or some bigger gears will help but that will take away from the term STOCK

I had 2 GPS's to make sure it was 100% correct and 162 was the top speed the GPS read. Then I went to a local shop had the computer messed with and off I went with a witness. Windows up or down? I had mine to 160(on a track of course..) with the tops off and windows down and it wasn't bad at all, but I know that at 70 on the freeway if I roll the windows up with the tops off it hurts my ears.

No 408 at the time No I had a bone stock ls1 with 80k mileson it and a stock 4l60e and thats all. The new edition is the 408 and I have no idea how fast it will go... I have no desire anymore to see how fast i can get it going unless it's in the 1/4
