Torn between a G8, GTO, & CTS-V! Looking to sale my 99' H/C bolt-on Z and put the money down on a new ride.
Need advice on which and why?
Also considering an A4 over M6, MAYBE! Not 100% sure yet.

If the supercharged, newer CTS-V is on your list of possibilities, that's by far going to be the best performing car of the three, at least in stock form. I'm sure you probably know that though.
If you can find a G8 GXP, that would be my choice if I were choosing between the 3. It has an LS3. It's fast from the beginning, as easy to mod as an F-body, and despite the fact that not that many of them made it onto the road, I see them for pretty decent prices. I would expect one of those to have a pretty good collector's value a few years down the road.

Get the G8 GT/GXP. It has superior handling, more rear seating room, a HUGE trunk, it has great potential for picking up power(40 rwhp on a 91 tune), and it looks better.
The downside is the GT doesn't have a manual tranny, if that's what you're looking for. And no navigation, but the one in the CTS-V is subpar anyway.

Leaning toward a 4 door and the g8's are sick IMO, but I think before I narrow it down to a g8 I want to drive the g8 and CTS-V! I hate to decide before I've drove both lol

i've owned my 2004 GTO for 5 years now, she's been cammed and modded for 2. absolutely love the car and will never get rid of her.
to really choose wisely, you'll need to analyze what you want the car for.
Daily driver, weekend car, track queen?
if this is to be your grocery getter and wont be highly modified, i'd have to suggest the G8 in at least the GT trim. the GXP is the ideal solution for those who want to shift manually and need mo powah, but traffic is not their friend any more than it's the GTOs.
if you're going to get a weekend car only, or have a beater to endure daily commute abuse, i'd consider a GTO the perfect solution. mods are getting cheaper (LS1 based) and they're very rare these days... i cant count the number of compliments i get on mine daily... TONS to say the least. i also have a 1.5 year old daughter that i tote around frequently in the goat... her recaro car seat fits perfectly and getting her in and out is a snap.
the 04-05 CTSV is what i was originally looking for until i found the GTO, from what i've read online (no personal experience to draw on) there are dependability issues with the diffs on the CTSV, other than that - they're a more expensive, more comfortable and flashier version of the GTO.
great lineup to choose from, let us know what you go with!

its a very nice car though i think g8s are nicer but a CTSV would be my choice.

Glad I found this thread. I am looking to replace my 94 v-6 Bird next year. I really want a GPX, but not the 25-30k price tag, or the CTSV for the same reason. 5 months left on my truck payment of 600 a month, not looking for that again. I guess I need to narrow it down to a GTO then, haha.

I get to drive both they both run good & handle the road good,the 05 cts-v has a bad *** top end but G8 has the dig!! My cuz cts-v & my G8 both only have CAI !!
