Dropping motor from bottom
When you drop the motor from the bottom and not using a lift. Do you lift the car by the radiator support? Anyone have any pics of it?

I built a wood stand that sits on the jack, lifts the car lower radiator support. Then jack stands all the way up. If you want to make life easy, go the harbor frieght and get the wooden dollys they have, 10.00 bucks or so need 3. Two under k member and the the last one under trans cross member. Then after the car is up high enough it rolls out as one unit.
Hope it helps

Do you have a picture of were your hooking up the chains or whatever to raise the car with? Thats my main question. Also I have seen some guys take the wheels off and some not. Anything on that?

Dont do any kind of lifting on the radiator support you will buckle the car at the fenders. Once you get everything loose jack the car up off the motor with two jacks on either side of the car on the pinch weld jack points.

We just did a 97' Firebird LT1 swap, and we used the cherry pickers with 2 slings equal distance apart on the radiator support and didn't have any problems either. We took the wheels and tires off, and then once the cradle on the ground we used my Silverado with a tow strap to pull it out from under the car. I have a video of it, but it's on my phone and I don't have a cable to upload it.

we ended up raising the car in the front with a cherry picker and pulling it out of the front after supporting the car with jack stands and cinder blocks using wood for more support between them. worked pretty well but we ended up taking the air dam off for more room since we had the car up so high the bumper was on the ground we were maxed out on how high we could go.
