Stalling when slowing down + EGR error code (PO405)
Hi all,
My 2000 SS started stalling when I slow down to come to a stop today, did it twice. Idles fine all day, drives like new aside from a whiny 10bolt. Anyway, I've been getting a PO405 code lately which is related to EGR. I'm thinking perhaps the EGR is malfunctioning. Anyone have any other ideas?
Also, I'm ordering an EGR delete plate now, but it will be a few days before it's in. Is there anywhere I can simply unlplug the EGR system so it won't be used? Or will that make things worse since the system is still attached.
Any ideas at all are appreciated!

If the valve is stuck open and you unplug it, it will still be dumping the exhaust into the intake, which will cause you to stall. If you unplug it, the SES light will come on as well.
