+1 -- that's loud and raspy -- sounds like what you're going for. That setup will do the trick.
If you ever think you might have some interest in getting the best of both worlds with a y-pipe setup, run a more mild catback and slap an electric cutout in the intermediate pipe. Crack the cutout open 30-40% and it will add volume to the mix but you still get the benefit of the tone of the catback. Even better -- if you need it to be obnoxiously loud and raspy, just open the cutout and it will sound loud, loud and louder. No tone whatsoever, just really loud.
