Sell 2 vehicles... Get one... Opinions
Hello all,
Recently was out cruising my trans am and some "kind person" side-swiped the whole passenger side. For the last few years I haven't been driving the car much as it's been designed really as a track car, and I purchased my z06 about 4 years ago and that's just so much more fun on the street.
So since about 2 years ago I've contemplated many different ideas, perhaps make the ta more streetable... part it out and put a blower on my z06... sell both and buy a c6 z06... New motor technology is just unreal...
So this accident is forcing me to make a decision, when the car goes to the body shop either I put the hood and wheels I want on, or just repair to stock and start getting ready to sell. Then the question is do I put a d1sc on my current z06 and a double d nav setup, or just sell that as well and buy a c6z.
Reason I'm thinking about change, my job is keeping me from being able to go the race track, that isn't going to change either unfortunately.. So do I need two "street" cars? The ta is a unique beast and would be hard to replace.
Just curious on people thoughts... I'm completely torn.. I've owned the ta since new basically.
Sorry for the long post....
TIA!

man I have long considered the same thing. I have a 2000 SS and a 2001 Ws6 with super low miles. But I have always wanted a Z06....but cant quite bring myself to sell two cars for one...plus put a good amount of money up with the cars. I am not a track person, so speed isnt an issue with me. Its a tough decision!!!

I'd get the c6z. If you don't have time to go to the track it would be hard to justify having two fun street cars. Also with a few miss the c6 could make close to the same power as the c5z with a d1sc.

I like having multiple cars to suit multiple moods and/or duties, so I'd always pick the option that allows for more than one toy. I couldn't really imagine stepping down to just one car.

if youve put in all that work id put money on the fact that you would regret it. BUT having 2 toys is very expensive and im a sucker for the new Z06...
i personally would go with the C6Z. so sleek, fast, and road course ready that would still be great on the street

Considering that the car has been involved in a collision, you may or may not be able to get all that you want for it if you put it back to stock and sold it outright. Plus, judging by what you have listed in your sig, you have a decent amount of money and effort invested in it as well and you surely won't be getting all of that back. With that said, I would definitely keep the car.
