Default Very easy old school way of turning off auto headlamps

I got a PM about this because I have done this on almost all of the 10+ LSX camaro's I have owned over the years since like late 2000!! I have posted it before but cannot find the link to help a fellow member out so I will write it up quickly. I find this easier than the other ways to disable them.

1.) Take a flathead screwdriver and gently pop up the dash pad.

2.) Once you pry up the dash located the light sensor that sits right next to the security light.

3.) Once you locate the sensor remove the top part of the sensor. It clips on the connector.

4.) After taking the sensor off the connector. Place each end of the resistor into the connector. You are finished!

5.) tuck the wire back in and place the dash pad back into position. No more auto headlamps

New owner here. Thanks for this information. Was commenting just this past Saturday night that I didn't know how the headlights turned on automatically. Figured there was a sensor somewhere but didn't know where to begin to look.

Much appreciated!

If I don't want mine on I use the old cheat code. Just pull the e-brake handle up a little (not enough to engage it) before turning the key on and the automatic lights won't activate.

Then when I want them on I just drop the e-brake all the way down.
