Hey guys. I'm wracking my brains trying to find a car for myself and part time for my family. I don't drive much, and 99% of the time it's just me. But sometimes it'll be me, the wife, and 3 kids(two in car seats, one in a booster). I average 5k miles per year.
So I was thinking about buying a Charger R/T or a 300c. But I have never really had good luck with Chrysler vehicles. I'd like any and all suggestions.
I'm not too strong feeling on anything particular, but I'd like to keep the mileage down as much as possible.
I wish I could swing things with a GTO, found two on ebay I'd love to buy that are nearby....but it just wouldn't work out.
Thanks for your responses.

I had looked at a GXP. But it being FWD and write ups on how difficult they are to mod scared me away.
Its a sucky predicament. I had a grand prix for 4 years and I had the kids in it maybe four times, every other time I used one of our other cars. But I can't own a car that can't accommodate the whole family.
A coupe would be ok if the backseat had seating for 3.

YOU COULD DO WHAT I DID...i got a 79 camaro dropped a 6.0 into it and built up the backseat so i could install a back seat bench out of a 72 nova. all three of my kids fit fine. the nova apolstery matches the back rest of the camaro perfect too. looks like it was made that way. on another route though you could go with a chevelle or nova and drop an lsx into it.
btw i have way less than 14k into my ride. heck i have less than 10 into it. and i built the 6.0 and the th350 trans is new.

I don't see two carseats and a booster fitting in the back of a first-gen CTS-V. I imagine it'd be an incredibly tight fit in the back of my Grand Prix GXP to squeeze the booster between the two carseats. I don't see that fitting easily into anything less than a Bonneville or a Charger.
I've gotta say I really do love my GXP. It obviously isn't nearly as fun as the C5 it replaced when my daughter came, but it is a pretty cool car that would be very easy to find in your price range. There's one on here for sale with ~35k miles for $15k.

The Charger RT & 300 C are pretty good cars & have plenty of back seat room for what youre wanting. You may have to buy an older one, 05-07 to be in the price range you want. They do have terrible problems with front end parts wearing out(inner & outer tie rods, tension struts mainly) but if you buy MOOG parts it will last compared to dealer parts. Rear suspensions are rock solid compared to the front, usually nothing wears out on them.

Hang in there and save a few more bucks (like $17k) and you can buy my G8 after my stroker is done and car is back together in a few weeks lol. (half kidding half serious) thinking i want to go back to a third gen with low mileage. should've never sold my GTA. loved that car!!
