Default Who insures your high dollar engine build.....

I just finished my 408 build and now have several thousands of dollars invested (7k or so). is their any companies who it could get insured through so if i were to wreck my car i would get the value of the car along with whatever i had the motor insured for? i have EVERY piece of paper showing what i bought and how much it cost if that will help the insurance part at all.

The last thing I would want to do is tell my Ins. Co. I had some high dollar\horsepower
engine. It's still your car after it's totaled to do with what you want regardless of what
some insurance co. ******* may try to tell you.

Yeah but you have a big ticket item in there, do you really want to go around with an 8000 dollar engine that uninsured? Engines get hurt and killed in crashes too, not just the body. If you smash into a pole head on at 40mph you better believe that your engine will be toast.

Wrong it's your car. You owe them the money agreed upon when you signed
the loan. Insurance pays that minus the buyback.

Absolutely.

Yes they are damaged when hit at the crank, but that's a block and a crank.

Yeah Grundy is who I just got my policy from and it was $480 for the year at 20k. However, im in Michigan and there was an additional $200 charge for our catstrophic fund, so it would have ben $280 for the year. PM me if you want the direct number to the agent who helped. Sometimes their 800 number menu can be a pain in the ***.

I just got my engine replaced by Continental Western Group, Classic Car ( modified car) policy last spring they covered new engine and all modified parts $8,200 no questions asked they even paid for the WS6store to do the work (shop of my choice) since I live so close to them. $226 every 6 months insured for $18k unlimited miles you can drive per year. Try them out they are great.

My wife works for GEICO and I am able to insure additions to the car that were not factory. Of course you pay a premium to cover those items, but like any other investment, depends of how much you care about it.

its called modified car coverage, the classic car coverage is for cars 20yrs or older. just give them a call and they will hook you up. I got mine through my agent and they are an independent agent so they can sell multiple brands of insurance
