Default ls1 to lq9 help?

Can anyone whose done this share there knowledge with a noob pleaz?,Ive got an 02 z28 m6 car and spun a rod bearing last week, motor is coming out this week and I've found a good deal on a "great running" intake to oil pan 2006 model lq9 with 132k miles for a fair price and Im wondering if its worth the swap and what all it will consist of other than swapping all the accessories and intake etc off my ls1,also will I need a tune immediately or can I daily drive it until I can get a mail order tune?I plan on peeking a little into the new motor before install and is there any thing I should go ahead and replace while its out like timing chain oil pump etc ,I'm new to the site and fairly new to the ls crowd just looking for any advice and knowledge from those who've been in my spot, thanks in advance for replies

everything is the same is just that the lq9 has an iron block... but you will have to change the lq9 oil pan with the ls1 one with the oil pickuper... and swap everything else from the ls1... (accessories, intake, exhaust) its up to you if you want to change the ls1 heads just for raising the lq9 compression...
I have a lq4 and im happy with the 317 heads 303whp/339wtq stock

no tune is really needed and just because you are changing the oil pan change the oil pump and chain and maybe the cam just because you are already there

Ok cool sounds like a pretty direct swap ill probably just stick with the stock cam and 317s for now( unless my 241s are any better ?) Until I can afford a polished set of 243s and probably just a small upgrade on the cam like factory ls6,car already has pacesetter lts custom built true dual h pipe setup,ls6 intake, p&p tb,slp lid,410 gears and a Hurst short throw so its already fun and makes decent power but what kind of numbers can I shoot for with a 6.0 with the above mods and the ls6 h/c/I?

depends... here's mine https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...sults-lq4.html

maybe 360whp

my brother´s ls1 with the 243 jumped from 354whp to 389whp but the cam make him improve that much... just with 243 maybe 20-25

You will need to drill & tap a 2nd hole for the alternator.

keep the stock 317s (over the stock 241s) the 317s flow a little more and you still got 10:1 compression.
