I can't comment on a cammed LS1, but here are links to my friend's 02 TA M6, that we installed my old exhaust setup on. Car is stock other than tune & exhaust in the videos. SLP LTs, ORY, GMMG:

straight out of the box mods...
1. nitrous was the most fun.
2. stranos/konis
3. sticky tires
4. stall (not for you)

i think thats my 1-4
but to really open up the "fun" in a 4th gen, you need (at least) better tires and koni shocks. after that... so much fun you'll think your nitrous bottle is leaking.

I think my 370 swap was the funniest mod I have done.

What can you change about the shift linkage, and what is a "tick" master cylinder?

you change the stock shifter (shift linkage) for an after market one. I have a Hurst Billit Plus, some guys like the pro 5.0, and the MGW is good. The Tick master cylinder keeps the clutch pedal from sticking to the floor on WOT high RPM shifts.

I think you lost him on linkage, since the shifter is directly bolted to the transmission without any linkage.

But yes, a Hurst Billet is a great shifter, my 99 has the white ball installed and I love it.

Electric cut out #1 mod, love the noise on demand and then back to stock when you want to seen and not heard. Never liked the poly motor mounts, seemed to send a buzz through the car at idle. The stock bilstein level one suspension was really very good. I now have a full Strano's setup but some issues with banging so I put in air bags in the back. Keep some pressure in them for everyday driving, drop it on the road course.
Just remember the car will never be as quiet, comfortable and easy to drive then when it was stock.

Having done most mods, I am going to say the cam was my favorite mod.

not gunna lie doing my drag radials, shocks, and torque arm are the most fun mods so far (until i do a cam) because I could actually use my converter the way it was intended and not blow off the tires. The shocks make the car feel amazing compared to my stock shocks and the torque arm made everything in the rear feel more stable.

I was actually considering making my own shifter. I bought the right size die for the threads, now just need some material, dimensions, and someone to drill the holes perfectly. This is my goal:

This will get you firmer feel, but not shorter throws like an aftermarket shifter will. Basically, you are just removing the factory stick and replacing it, not changing the shifter.
