Well for the same reason people dont like loud music its obnoxious to some and pointless. I agree with loud performance however haha its just preference. Even though mine can sound like **** at some RPM with a cutout i am anxious to get a new set up. Although if it bothers someone.. as if they complain to me about it i will do the best i can to make us both happy. Ive gotten lucky with my previous cars and neighbors as they always are early risers so i did not wake them up.

 

My old NBM had an O/R Y and Magnaflow Catback, that car was actually pretty loud, but had a decent tone to it. My new car is all stock with the CME and it reminds me of a stock 5.3 or 4.8 truck, WAY too quiet.

 

I have the loudmouth with heads and cam.

my daily is quiet as hell and my f-body is pretty quiet, too. if i were to have the ears of an old, wrinkly 40-something, i would have a loud car. the only time i liked loud was when i was 19½, right before i got SLP's loud mouth. when i turned 19¾ i was tired of loud and have been ever since!

 

The one comment i get from everybody about my ride is( You can not sneak up on no one). I'm running a true dual Classic Chambered (Powerstick) short version of the exhaust.

 

if you want performance the sound has to come with it.

Stock ls1 with open cutout.Pretty loud under acceleration, but once laid over in 6th its fairly quiet.

 

My beater is extremely quiet which is what I like

My camaro on the other hand....Cam LT/ORY/cutout really loud. If ik ill be driving without stop and go traffic ill just leave the cutout closed so theres no rasp/drone and through the magnaflow its not bad. Got noticeably louder after the cam tho.

 

Me too. I think it's the perfect combination. I can definitely sneak up on someone. I had an incident a while back that confirmed it.

Driving down main street, four dudes in a jeep with the top down just driving around. I got about ten feet from their bumper without them noticing, changed lanes and punched it going about 10 mph.

I thought one of them was going to jump out. It scared the daylights out of all of them and then they all gave me a thumbs up. Made my day.

My Grand Prix is my DD and its all stock but the SS has that lovely stock cat/ cutout sound.

my daily isn't a lsx powered car/truck but i have a 2006 cummins ram with straight 4 inch tubing and a 7 inch stack. pretty loud. i love it.

 

Whisper quiet because it is a blazer.

 

DD~ ranger bone stock didn't want any noise.

Toy~ downright obnoxious, LT, 3" spintechs dumped just before rear axle. Almost* can't stand it running 80 on the highways.. Took a chick out this past weekend in it, couldn't talk on the ride there or back haha
