Default Guide me in spending my money wisely .....

I hope this is the right forum for this ....... I recently purchased a 93 z28 it has a LT1 with blown headgaskets its been sitting awhile so I need to rebuild the LT1 or I was thinking of doing a LS conversion instead that being said its a driver not a race car I want reliably vs speed and cost vs wasting money bottom line what's involved obviously the engine and harness and pcm but what are the hidden obstacles in doing a LS conversion ......

if i were you , id do an ls swap , whether you spend more and go 6.0 or more cost friendly and get a 4.8 or 5.3 . You wont have opti issues and it will make more power and be reliable as hell .

Try a search, I am sure there are plenty of LT to LS conversions in the Hybird and LT sections on this site.

I hate to even suggest it but your probably better off buying a cheap ls1 car. By the time you get done im sure you could have found an ls1 car for the cost of converting the lt car.

I'm going to have to agree, I looked into doing it with my old 95 V6 and the only affordable way to do it would be to find a wrecked LS1 f-body for cheap because piecing it together part by part can get expensive fast.

I would say before you abandon youre idea of doing this look a little more into parts so you know what youre looking at

Or keep an eye out for a totaled out LS car like a rear end or side impact.

No matter what, with patience and looking out for good deals you can usually really cut the cost of a build down if your willing to wait for them.
