You guys saying to go with a T/a because C5's are everywhere are high as a kite. Given the condition/miles are the same C5 wins everyday. Especially if Frc or Zo6

Trans am vs C5 dollar to dollar, the t/a is the best bang for the buck, and looks ten times better, if your going to get a vet get a c6

Not sure where you live but I found 273 different C5 Vettes listed at 16,000 or under...could probably get for the 13-14 you are talking about spending. Plenty of them have under a hundred rounds and not even that would scare me away as plenty of people are modding their over 100K LS1 engines and making plenty of reliable power. Consider the fact that most silver haired middle aged goof ***** that could chip off 40-50 grand for a C5 when new were most likely candy *** drivers and chances are that a stock one would not be a pounded out pile of crap. 3.5 years of owning my first Vette and still love it.

That's not an arguement anyone can win, since it's 100% subjective. No matter how much a person (or a group of people) loves the look of a car, there will always be someone that prefers something else.

Buy the Vette. Seriously if you don't need a back seat ( I have 2 girls) buy the vette. I'm very proud of my Ws6 and I red light race vettes monthly, some win some lose. the majority of vettes where I'm at are bone stock, maybe a K&N filter or cold air intake. The odds of buying one stock is great, I see them in every hospital garage I visit (I repair med equip). Low miles, stock, tons of potential. good luck

I have a C5 & if you just want an ls powered beast, get either one that makes you smile. You can determine the smile ratio by test driving either one. Clearly you are in no rush & that is a good thing. Parts aren't an issue for either car with all the forums out there. Dealer prices high, yes, but who pays dealer prices? Good luck.

I'm from mass and it seems like a clean t/a for a reasonable price is hard to find unless you want a t/a that has high mile or looks like it had a hard life. If I wanted a ss camaro they are all over the area. A c5 seems to be easier to find for a good price with low miles. Like I said I see a lot for $15,900. One had 50,xxx miles and I'm paying cash so I can see it helping me to get that price down. I still have to sell my bike so you are right I'm in now rush and time is on my side. I'm also seeing if I can put up one of those metal garages to put it in cause I only have a carport.

Yes, but let's be realistic here...how many people will side on the fact a Trans Am looks 10x better than a C5...not many.

I sold my 01 Z28 for my 03 Z06. I miss the camaro a little but you just cant beat a Vette. so light, agile, and fun.

but it all depends on what you want. I wanted a light car with IRS so i went with the vette. I didnt want to finish the 9" rear end on the camaro just so I dont grenade it doing a hard launch. but you cant go wrong with either. just need to ask yourself if you want a car that is mainly for straight line performance, or more for curvy roads.

That doesn't really matter though, unless you're picking a car mostly to impress or please others. The only cosmetic-related opinion that ever matters is that of the shopper/buyer, not the general "popular" opinion (unless you're undecided and specifically looking for input from others).

For example, I sold a WS6 to get back into a Camaro. Few people would agree with/do that. Popular opinion had no effect on my decision either way though, as I wasn't at all concerned with that.

I've had 3 different F-bods before my C5Z and I don't regret it one bit. The last one I had was a '99 T/A M6 with a cam and bolt-ons making about 430RWHP too. As for vette parts being more expensive that's true in some parts but not all. Remember the motor is the same so basically everything motor-related is the same price as an F-bod with the exception of cold air intake, headers, and exhaust. Good vette headers are ridiculously expensive in my opinion.

It is hard to save up to get a c5z while making my house payment. So I will settle with a c5 hrc, or just a normal c5. Doing stuff to my house is an better investment. I just want my best bang for my buck and it seems like it is a c5 since ws6 are way to high in my area for a clean one.

I suggest you drive them both, I almost got an SS, till I drove a C5Z....
C5 Cons are, it cost more for C5 specific items like exhaust etc, and drivetrain labor, Tires(if you have C5Z wheels)
Pros: lighter, faster, nimbler, quicker, better fuel economy, more leg room, easier to drive/park
