Speed engineering headers?
I am going to be ordering headers and a y-pipe in the next week or so and was wondering about the speed engineering headers and y-pipe? Or would I be better off to speed a little more and get pacesetters or tsp? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

According to Speed Engineering, they are coming out with 1 7/8" headers soon and WILL have Cat-Back and Tru-Duals in the future . . .
So, in stead of forking over $2700 for Kooks headers and true-duals, we should be able to do it for $600 - $700 for the SE products !

I picked a set of them up, along with their y-pipe. The quality looks great on them, and you really cant beat the price. I haven't installed them yet, so I cant comment on the fitment, but from what I gather they fit great.
The stainless has a real nice finish to it also.

I installed them last weekend. Fitment for the race header is excellent. No issues at all. I can put my hand between the primary and k member there is so much room. Other than being made in China, and being 1 3/4...they are literally perfect. BTW I didn't use the supplied gasket, I used reused my GM gaskets.

Yeah I didn't pay anywhere near $2700 for my full kooks setup. Ya gotta call sponsors like maryland speed for better prices. It still may be out of your budget though I don't know. And don't waste your time with 1 3/4" like I did the first time....do it once and do it right.

Like I said before since you decided to ignore what I said in my other post. You have to CALL them to get past the online pricing. Little thing with buttons on it that you had to use before the internet made everyone allergic to talking to actual people.

Well, it better be a DEEP discount, since Speed Engineering will probably be selling their headers and true-dual system for 25% - 33% of the price for Kooks. That would be $700 - $900 total.

Nope . . .
Sean, from SE, indicated they are going to have flanges at that point, with either a choice of dumps or an over the axle setup . . .

I'd recommend header studs. They make the install go a lot smoother as you'll be able to hang the gasket on the studs and slide the headers on without fighting to thread a bolt in the hole while trying to line up the gasket. This is even more important when doing the install alone
