T78 - HEADLAMP CONTROL DELETE

"Delete" being the operative word. My '00 WS6 also had RPO T78, because it was a US spec'ed car. Cars built for Canadian sale would have been equipped with auto headlights, and thus would not have had this "delete" RPO.

Ahh I see. I just read it wrong.

One button turns it off. This takes all of 1/2 second.

One advantage to having TC is that it comes with an adjustable throttle cable, so any slack can be removed if true WOT is not being attained with the factory adjustment. The non-TC cars don't have an adjustable cable, so if there is slack the process to fix this is much more difficult.

The upside to not having TC is a cleaner engine bay though. I generally find the feature (as it operates on these cars anyway) to be useless.

This is the biggest up-sell for me. That and if I forget to turn it off in the staging lane before doing a burnout I won't feel so stupid

Yeah, I wasn't sure so i thought I'd ask. I just thought the WS6, had it.

As for the auto head lights, I wish it came with that option. I sure I read a write up on the mod for it.

My 2001 WS.6 M6 doesn't have ACS (TC).
My 2001 Z28 A4 does, and my 2002 SS A4 Didn't.

I've always hated auto headlights, and DRLs as well. All LS1 Camaros (US or Canadian spec) come with auto headlights, and the first thing I've done with every LS1 Camaro I've bought is to disable this feature.

Not "ACS", but rather ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation). ASR was the term Chevy used for the traction control system on Camaro. On Firebird/TA, Pontiac simply called it Traction Control System. Not sure why Chevy needed such a fancy term.

All it took to enable this was the light sensor, US Firebird's simply had a jumper in it's place. Remove the jumper put in the sensor and you have auto headlights. I did this for fun once, put in a switch to turn this feature on or off. I never use it however.

The part was 10261143 but has been discontinued. Guess you find one in a salvage yard from a Camero.

I don't have TC and my throttle cable is adjustable.

There is an inline slide adjuster on the TC versions. I have not seen this adjuster on stock, non-TC versions. I wonder how yours got this? I've worked on several that didn't have it.

So both the cruise and throttle cables are adjustable?

Here's a question that I was just thinking about earlier today about gas... I haven't done the math on price yet, but as far as OCT:$ ratio, would it be more cost effective to run the slop (87/oct) and then add some octane booster or just run 93/oct?

But yeah, I'm sure it need a good tuneup too
At most, octane booster may increase by a full point, but not enough to fill the void between 87 and 93.

Octane booster will be more expensive and still not end up with the right octane.

Booster raises "points", not a full octane number. This means if it raises octane 6 points, it will be 87.6 octane....it will not be 93 octane.
