How do I make my VFN hood work with the RAM AIR?
I have an 01 Ws6 and was wanting to finally put my VFN 5" cowl Ram Air hood on it, but what do I do with the Ram Air? How do I get it to work? I have a K&N FIPK, should I just use that?
This is what I have:

This is the hood I have, but mine is the PIN ON so there's no frame on the belly of it.

i wud have to guess if there is no holes in the hood ud have to make some, in which case the kn fipk is too far forward, need a stock ram air box to sit behind the holes probably. i don have either but thats my gues?

Yeah Bro, there is no more comradery on this board anymore. Hell... I needed local help and I couldn't get 1 person to help me. The 2 guys, that were cool enough to offer, lived outside my area. Funny thing is, I got offered more help from my old 3000GT VR4 buddies... just goes to show ya! I bet I'd get more help, fixing my Trans Am, from the Mustang crowd

Your getting no help because when someone puts one of those tall hoods on , getting "ram air" inst a big freaking deal . Hardly anyone runs that air filter setup either . So you have two things against you .

didn't realize you had this in 2 different sections but as stated in the other, that filter is good for nothing but sucking up hot air and "ram air hood" is a marketing gimmick
most people running that hood are doing so because they need it for clearance...a basic lid and ls6/FAST intake setup does not need it
the best way to get a functional ram air setup on the car that actually works is the seal the airbox with a good larger outlet lid, cut the bottom of the airbox out, and use a scoop that pulls air from under the car and force feeds the airbox

I have a 95' Trans am with the ls1 front end on it and a hood similar to that one, I used a ls1 k&n kit like you have and built a plexi-glass deal that seals to the hood and has sides. It works, picked up a few mph in the quarter and et. But looks ghetto kinda lol
