LS1 to LQ4/9 Swap, true duals compatible?
I have a nearly stock LS1 right now in my Trans am, and am planning on eventually dropping in an iron block and stroking to 427. I want true duals, can't stand Y pipe setups.
If I get a custom true duals setup (longtubes, cats,) on my LS1, and eventually swap in an iron block, will the true duals still fit perfect, need some fab, or will I need to totally redo the exhaust?
Just trying to think long term. Wouldn't want to waste $$$ on a setup that I will redo in the future.

I do not have a local shop yet, I'll honesty be doing it a few months or so down the road. PM me to stay in contact..
Would 2.5 in piping restrict ~500hp?

427 LQ block will need serious work. That isn't a typical stroker build. OR you will need to start with a bigger motor and send that to a machine shop.
That said, the LS family of motors are very close in size. The height of header flanges in relation to body and overall width will determine if a true dual setup will still fit "perfect" on both motors. Use 3" all the way, X or H pipe, whichever fits.
