Thoughts on future mod's
So I'm kicking around some ideas on what I want to do with my car and just wanted some people to bounce it off of and plus I'm bored tonight.
So far here's how the car sits right now

Current for performance I have OBX headers ORY ran to a single magnaflow bullet, frost tune, volant intake.
So what I want to do is possibly switch to TSP 1 3/4 headers and ORY into a SLP loudmouth with a Borla XR-1 muffler with Corsa Clone tips. Hot cam then 3.73 gears. Along with a panhard bar and lower control arms (already have subframe connectors and strut bar)
I'm not looking for a monster I just want something I can have fun in the street with. My biggest question I want to bounce of you guys is should I leave the OBX headers and just go from exhaust back or what?
Thanks and excuse my boredom.

With that said, if you are going to swap them out, I agree with z-camaro that you might as well upgrade to 1.85.
I'd also check out Speed Engineering headers as they're stainless just like TSP yet a fraction of the cost.
Not worth swapping the headers IMO. If it were me I'd just leave the exhaust alone for now (since you already have a full exhaust) and put that money towards something else
For bolt on's and and a small to mid sized cam I don't think better headers and y-pipe would be worth the cost and effort. As for the other mods do you have a A4 or M6,and what year is your car? If it's a 2000 or older defiantly get a LS6 intake instead of different headers.

It's an A4 and a 2002 so I already have the LS6 intake. I think I will just keep the headers and ORY and just change out the bullet turn down and just run it all the way to the back.

put a quality stall convertor in it next it will give you the best bang for the buck and you will need it before doing a cam as cammed cars need to get up into the cams powerband or they will be turds..
circle d , yank ,ptc, etc..
that's a good looking ride BTW

I would do a cam bigger than the hot cam like you mentioned along with a good converter and drag radials. It'll be very fun and as long as you have a good tune, it should drive around fine.
^^^Thats why I asked. Always stall before cam or your car will be a turd. If you have 3.23 gears 3.73's wont even be worth the cost or time. Some people are happy with the hot cam but there are better cams, although it and the ASA cam are good if you don't want to worry to much about valve spring maintenance, you'll be giving up a good amount of hp but some people are okay with that.
A good 3600-4000rpm stall converter will make a bigger difference than any other mod, on the street or strip, even if you were never going to put a cam in it. Just make sure you buy a GOOD converter not some cheap $400 B&M or anything like that, and you'll also need a transmission cooler.
What the high quality gets you is durability and economy , it wont break as easily as a cheap one and when locked up it will run the same rpm's out on the back roads and highway allowing you to keep good fuel economy , gears cant offer this....
Stall should always been one of the first things on the list a auto vehicle. It makes a HUGE difference. Always kept stock stall for a long time and when i decided to upgrade man i was missing something in my life. Lol
Like others have said keep the headers the same no reason to change unless going bigger. Stall would be your best bang for your buck. They are one of the best mods for auto cars. Have you thought about true duals at all? That is what I am doing next when I stop being lazy.
I've looked at true duals and just can't convince myself to do it plus I'm not putting out a ton of power for that. Plus I used to have the Borlamouth set up and loved it. As for stall I still don't see the justification in it. It's not a drag car I'm sure I won't be putting out 400hp so with the gears and a tune it should be alright for just daily driving on the street.
