2001 5.3 into a 2005

2001 5.3 into a 2005 I have a 5.3 on a stand that is stamped A171 by the water pump. From what I have read this is January 17 2001 engine. Is this correct? I have checked and it is a 5.3 I have the chance to buy a 2005 Suburban that needs an engine. Can anyone tell me if my 5.3 will work? The local junk yard said the interchange number is different. Thanks for any help
