in searching for a T56 for a project Came across a 2001 Camaro SS body in great shape, interior decent, 72,000 mi. Engine is toast, I'm thinking hydro locked and busted something. I have a low mileage ls1 out of an 99 vette would it be worth it to swap engine and have a fun car to drive, Last Camaro I had was a 67 had a ls6 Big Block

you can part out the blown engine too , I have a friend that would be interested in your tb & intake for his 5.3 build
With tow charge just shy of $1700, The 99 vette engine made some cash off all parts I sold. I'd say the price is right. Now the fun begins swapping the engines.
New plans, I sold my 56 sedan delivery project so now I've got a LQ4 that I think I'll put in the Camaro. maybe a 408 stroker something to kick around.
everyone have a great New Year
Damn time flies when your having fun. Been too busy working not playing car.
Camaros been sitting waiting for a few days to swap motors, Decided not to go crazy on set up for this car but can't decide on what to do.. I've got a low mile LS1 from a 99 vette do I just swap it in and go, Or I've got new ZO6 243 heads and cam do I swap them on and change the oil pump while I'm in there. Help!!
I couldn't bring myself to to tear the car apart, there are way too many of these cars parted out because they are worth more in parts than a complete car. but if it's FUBARED cause you can't drive it that's different.
The fun has begun!! Motor appears to be in great condition, other than the carbon build up on the piston tops. The lifters look like new, shame to change them. Piston bores look perfect not even a slight ridge, hone marks look great. not going to touch bottom end unless I see something bad on cam bearings.
