Smile 500hp ls 5.3

So im doing a budget built just bought the bare block of a 2002 chevy truck.Doing a budget built .Wondering what parts will at least make 500hp to pistons all the way to manifolds. Feel free to help out thank you.

For no more that it would cost you'd be better off starting with a 6.0 block.

That is true im thinking of just buying a junk bare block and start from there either a 5.7 or 6.0 i been reading the suggestions just want to make at least 500hp

I'd say the easiest way to get there would be a 408 stroker with stock LS3 heads and a custom spec'd cam. Cam only LS3's hit 500 hp pretty easily so it should be cake with a 408.

What transmission will go perfect 4l60e or 4l80e . I have a 1987 monte carlo ss

I'd say with a engine swap your better off just starting with a stock running motor and after it's moving under it's own power again then worry about fast. For a transmission go 4L80e, probably cheaper cheaper using a 80e than trying to build a 60e to take that kind of power.

As far as getting everything into the car, the Hooker/Holley G body engine swap parts are the easiest most complete and best engineered way for getting it done.
