PCM/Car Stolen
I am away for business this week and this morning I get a frantic call from my wife that the Police/DMV inspectors are at our home and state that we are in possession of a stolen Vehicle, she proceeds to show them all of our documentation from the purchase of our 2000 Pontiac Firehawk, They narrow it down to the PCM being the stolen item in the vehicle, (as it red flagged the inspection we needed to register it) and ask her to bring the vehicle to a local mechanic shop to put it on a lift so they can investigate weather any other parts of our car are also stolen, although they find nothing else is. We bought this car back in 2013 from a private owner in Mississippi, and found out from the DMV inspectors that the PCM was reported stolen in Louisiana in 2011. So since we have had this car I have put in a rebuilt LS1 with a Texas speed 228r, 114LSA cam, Pacesetter headers, and some other feel good mods, and had the car tuned about a week ago (the LS1 it had in it dropped the #2 Piston). Now only to have to wait on a call from the bank who reported the stolen PCM or their insurance company to see if they want the part back, and if they do I have to buy a new PCM and then I have to get it re-tuned all over again, WOW what a friggin Nightmare this is turning out to be!!!! Has any one else had this happen to them??

You should be able to save the tune out of it.
You dont have to let them take your car without probable cause. Dont trust them. Give them the PCM if they want it and move on.
