Fuse location

In the process of wiring up my car, got a bunch completed then i stopped and looked at it and thought to myself "WTF am i doing?!" I fused the ground side of my battery and fuel pumps. This seems wrong, correct? I included a snippet of the electrical system to show you what i did.
Knowing the amount i do about current, you'd think you would want the fuse directly after the positive battery terminal so that way if it gets overloaded, the fuse pops and the only thing that was effected is the short amount of wire between the battery and fuse. Plus, for my fuel pumps, electricity likes the path of least resistance, so as it's wired now, that means the PCM is getting boned first.
Post #31 in this thread, RENE'S RAGE states that in a DC circuit, electricity flows from negative to positive. Can anyone confirm this? Or should i fuse both sides and call it a day? Lol.
