What do I need to know when running Cut Outs?

What do I need to know when running Cut Outs? IS there anything I need to know, when running cut outs? Right now, I am running Edelbrock drag headers with the 3.5 collector, about a foots of 3.5 pipe and 29" purple horneys with turn downs, off each header. I was running open headers, but was told it would screw up my valves and plugs, or something like that.
My question is, if I get cutouts, will that not be the same as open headers and also screw up my valves and plugs?
As for O2s, I think I am running the pre-cat O2s, but can't remember.
Ever since I put these glass packs on, my car is too damn quiet. Doesn't sound bad, but just too damn quiet.
