I bought this car recently and the belt shredded the first week I had it. I put a new belt on and it shredded 1 rib off- belt is riding forward on all accessories and it's riding back on the balancer. I removed the belt and inspected and it looks like the balancer is sitting forward about 1 full rib. I measured the balancer, the crank, and how far in the balancer the crank is. And with those measurements, the balancer should be sitting flush to the oil pump. Just to be sure, I reinstalled the balancer as per OEM instructions. Upon reinstall I have the same issue.


Before I did too deep into this, has anyone had any issues with Dorman balancers. Or has anyone ran into something similar?

let me see if i can find the specs but no it is not supposed to be that far on the crank
