Default stock harmonic balancer installed depth. Flush with crank or not?

Simple concern as the title says. I searched and see that the balancer is pushed against the oil pump. However I can not see this with a front cover and oil seal in the way ...
I know someone out there was smart and took a picture of the balancer after removing the stock bolt, please post pic here to confirm! Mine is about 1/4in from flush with the crank snout.

P.s. I do have a slp double roller timing chain and high flow oil pump installed. and even a img search was useless.

Is this what you are referring to? It is not flush with the end of the crank snout.

That is even better than I could have hoped for. Thank you kind sir! And that explains how I ended up stripping the threads. The ls1how to did not specify this .

Drill it out and tap it to the next size and use a grade-8 bolt or helicoil it with the same thread size and pitch

Ws6ick2k: I can bet it will never be fixed. that guide is old and it would take effort. Take it as a you were warned should have asked for advice first lesson.

randyws6: that is a great solution for people to use when the situation allows! I read up and went with techstar's XL harmonic balancer bolt (pn: mahw'14220). The longer/stronger bolt grabs clean threads further back. Drilling and re-tapping my crankshaft is not a option for me with the engine in the car, and my comfort holding a drill level above me in a blind crankshaft hole.
