Default What mod to do next

I have an '02 Z28 I already have full exhaust with a cutout, lid, P&P throttle body, SNS Stage 2 cam, ls2 timing chain, ls6 oil pump and 4.10 gears. I was wondering what would be the best bang for the buck mod to do next?

Thanks

With 4.10 gears I'm guessing your car is a manual, but if it happens to be an auto go with a new torque converter

How long can he hit it with nitrous before needing to ditch the 10bolt? Just learning and asking questions :-)

There's no exact answer to that. I'm near 600 rwhp/rwtq with a M6 and 4.10 gears and drag radials on the 10 bolt and I'm doing fine right now. Don't pull massive hole shots and eliminate wheel hop and it can hold pretty well

I have a set of 853 heads that I can get ported and polished for about $800 including doing 2.0 intake valves....are the heads worth the work and would the gins be worth the investment?

FYI, I personally went with Fast 90 intake + throttle body, + dyno tune = Absolute zero improvement in performance in terms of seat of the pants. On a 2002 Trans Am.

I only gained 5 rwhp on the dyno = big ****** fail in my book. That's why ls6 ftmfw.

I doubt fast 92 package is that much better for the money. But hey..... it did look purdy under the hood.

Either not big enough cam or heads don't flow enough to need the increased intake.

Get some ported 243s and a large cam like a btr 4 or sns stage 3 and then come back and report

Its been proven time and time again that you'll see around 20 rw gain from a properly ported Fast 90/92 and TB over a LS6/Ported TB. Im on a street tune so I have no numbers but I certainly felt it.

Do you have any suspensions mods OP? If not a good set ofd lower control arms might help you stave off wheel hop. I know mine could be pretty bad when suspension was still all stock.

A used FAST setup might help.

Underdrive pulley? I think it's a legit few HP mod if you're looking for simple, inexpensive S.

If you are looking to pick up a few more to the tire an underdrive pulley is an inexpensive way to go. If you are looking to spend a bit more an intake and throttle body upgrade would help. You might want to consider a clutch if the car is still running the stock one. Inevitably with the added power the stock one will hold up for only so long.

Wallet dependent - supercharge it. I haven't experience on F bodies s/c, but did it on our C6 (after similar mods you have minus cam).

I know it's LS2 as well, but it brought rwhp from around 380 to 568 on only 6lbs of boost. I wanted it tame. Lol

Fun as hell. If you can keep it hooked. Lol.

Depending on your cam, heads would likely be the next logical step. Just depends on what you use it for? Straight line? cruising? cornering?

I already have a Monster Stage 2 clutch and I have Strano lowering springs and Koni STR.T shocks. I also installed an under drive pulley when I did the cam swap. I have the 853 heads I could have ported and polished with a 2.0 intake valve installed. was not sure if those heads were worth the time and money. Its mostly a weekend cruiser with a few trips to the drag strip every now and then. I eventually want a supercharger but 2 kids in college prevents that kind of expenditure at this time. LOL

Thanks for all the replies.
