Default Should I buy this 5.3

Found a 5.3 from a 2000 Yukon and pick n pull. This Friday is half off engine looks complete debating on picking it up for a build or to resell. What do u guys think is it worth it??

Around here, it would be $200 from some yards for an engine in an unknown condition that you pull yourself. My 150,000 mile, model year 2000 Silverado LM7 already pulled engine, running without throwing any codes and 170 PSI for compression cost me $800. Its 4L60E trans and PCM set me back another $500. Get the drive shaft, wiring harness, PCM, radiator fans, trans cross member, overflow tank and maybe the radiator. Cut a package deal if you think you might need any of this stuff. At a minimum, get the PCM because your tuner will thank you.

GM made more truck engines than any other so there are a lot of 5.3's to go around. If the deal is good, pick it up for a build. However I wouldn't go through the effort expecting to make a huge profit.
