Stupid Question......LS3 HO motor??
So I'm looking at buying a 2010 SS Camaro and the owner swears this car has the H.O. motor option that is rated higher than the normal 426hp. I'm thinking he's full of **** but wanted to ask around. He claims it took him 2 years to find this car and the window sticker is over $46K. Any thoughts?

I've never heard of another LS3 version as I have one in my '09 C6. There were other LS engines offered in the Corvette line but the LS3 had the 430 HP or 436 HP (special exhaust) ratings. I would think the Camaro would be the same. I'm sure someone will respond if we are both wrong. Now if the guy is talking about this, then that's different. https://www.gmperformancemotor.com/parts/19301360.html

Could have been a car that was upgraded after it left the manufacturer, There are some dealer installed upgrades available that still carry the factory warranty. If he looked for 2yrs to find it then ask him what it was called. He had to know what it was to search for it.

He just told me that it is the "HO" version. Nothing else mentioned other than it has higher HP than the 426 all of the LS3s have. I haven't seen the window sticker yet. He says he has it with a $46K price tag. Funny thing is he told me to look it up to find out about the HO cars. I have searched high and low and haven't found a thing.

the owner doesn't know what he's talking about...there was no HO version, HOWEVER chevy does offer an engine upgrade that includes CNC LS3 heads and the LS7 cam that raises the HP to 470...again this was NEVER a factory option offered off the show room floor and there is no such thing as a HO LS3 but its possible the Dealer installed this package and sold it to the customer as an HO version or he had it installed before purchase...see link below for details

There was no HO option directly from GM, so the window sticker will NOT show this. Ask him to send you a picture of the factory window sticker, since he claims to have it. Ask him to point out where it lists this "HO" option. The truth will quickly come out at this point, one way or another.
As mentioned above, a dealer may have installed something on the car and boosted the power rating, but this would not appear on the GM sticker. There would have to be supplemental documentation from the dealer of such a package since it would be considered post-production (i.e. not stock).

I talked with him again. Its obvious now that he does not know what he's talking about. He actually tried telling me it was 455-465hp citing the 2016-2018 LT1 Camaro. Now he says he's going to take it to the dealer to get the whole truth. He's the 2nd owner and it turns out he was told this by the previous owner with nothing to back it up. Funny thing is he claims he's ridden in a 426hp version and its night a day difference to how much faster his car is. I thinks its all in his head. I think he got suckered. Its still a very nice clean low mile car. I'm still interested in it. I was checking to see if I stumbled across some ultra rare Camaro Unicorn or something...LOL.

I'd still be a bit leery, simply because you can't know for sure if the previous owner really did sucker him, or if he's making up stories to inflate the price and has now fallen back on this excuse since you called his bluff. I'd be sure to look this one over very carefully, just in case he's trying to hide other stuff.
