Default Can I put ls2/lq9 pistons on my gen 4 lq4?

I have a lq4 with free floating rods and pistons, I want to put flat top pistons from a ls2 or lq9, is it an easy swap? do I need to weight match? I just want to know if it's just a plug and play?

You can definitely use either set. The LQ9 version uses the same rings as the LQ4 fwiw. Alone its only worth 1/2 a point in compression, hardly worth the trouble unless you mill the heads

Yeah that's what I've been told, but one of my pistons is destroyed so I have a set of ls2 and lq9 pistons laying around. But to clarify I should be able to pop them in right? Would I have to balance the whole assembly?

Yes you can use either set, but from what I have found the truck rings are much cheaper than the thinner LS2 rings, unless you go with enginetech stuff. The weights I have seen on the whole LQ4 assembly vs LS2 (both gen 4) were withing 5 to 7 grams. If I were you I'd measure the weights just to be safe though
