Hi there fellas I am looking at buying a firebird but i am concerned that it may have been in a flood. How can I tell from looking at pictures? Does anyone have any experience with this.

From what I see that's normal for a car that sits outside and not garage kept. Does the car start and run? I would think if it got flooded you would see signs of that inside the car.

Thanks the problem is the car is out of state. I could ask for more pictures of the interior. Should I ask for something specific?

I would want to see pictures of the interior the front and back seats, trunk, gauge cluster. But IMO the only real way to get a feel for a car is to be at the car to really look it over and listen to it. Pictures just don't tell you everything.

Look for dirt/sediment in places it would have been brought in by water. Get a Carfax. Check electrical connections for corrosion due to trapped moisture.

Never buy a car or a house without seeing it in person.

Gm didn't paint the differential so its normal to look rusted like that. From the pics I see the car looks decent. Of course get more pictures AND don't pay anything until you drive and inspect the car unless you like being unhappy.
