In the next week or so Ill be swapping out the ol 100k mile bolt on ls1 for a fresh built 408, question is, is it safe to say I should be able to drop the engine out the bottom but leave the trans in the tunnel with the k member? The lift Im using is a center lift not a traditional twin post so I wont be able to drop the trans. Thnx in advance

I take it that by k-member you mean crossmember. Here's a thread with a lot of discussion. The third post includes a link to a great step by step tutorial on taking it out from the bottom.

I would think even with a center lift, if you dropped spindles and all you, once you pull the radiator/ Ac condensor you could roll it all forward enough to clear a centerlift? Im thinking a centerlift should only have the tailshaft/ trans crossmember obscured a bit.
gonna be tough to suspend the trans with only the crossmember mount attached. maybe able to come up with a fancy ratchet strap attachment point, but man id rather pull it all if I can.
